The dog days of summer are upon us. I can’t tell you how many tubs/boxes of ice cream the bf and I have gone through. While this is an awesome way to beat the heat, we felt bad that we couldn’t share our ice cream with our furbaby Dobby. Dogs need a way to cool down too! Happy holiday everyone! I hope you’re having a great kickoff to your July 4th weekend. I’ve been busy running around all over town looking for July 4th theme supplies for the blog. A few weeks ago we went to the Minneapolis’ Farmers Market. We picked up some yummy goodies there. We even found some home baked dog treats for our dog Dobby. Dobby loved the cookies, but $7 a bag for just a few cookies was too steep. I was not going to buy him another bag. C’mon his mom is a food blogger…I got this. That’s how I came up with these soft chewy pumpkin carob chips cookies for him.
Today is very special to me…it’s Dobby’s first birthday. Dobby by the way is my dog. Last year, my bf and I were talking about how we needed a new addition to the family. We were thinking about fur babies instead of just babies. In came Dobby. He made our life complete.
Today we celebrate Dobby’s birthday with a homemade ‘pupcake’. I’ve made treats for him before in the past, in which I will share in future posts, but I wanted his birthday cake to be extra special. It’s really easy to make and yummy…according to Dobby’s clean plate. People might think I’m crazy to go all out for my dog, but he is a member of our family and I know he loves us dearly. What’s the craziest thing you have ever done for your dog?
